One of the rooms that will
get cluttered easily is the bathroom. We use it everyday, all
day. When we are preparing for our day and especially if we are
rushed, we tend to leave everything on the counter or
vanity.
Take a look around your bathroom. What do you
see? More that likely you will see medicine bottles, make-up,
combs, brushes, hair accessories, razors, and so on.
Check your medicine cabinet. You should keep
your medicines in the cabinet. Bathroom get hot and humid when
we take a shower or a bath. Most medicines should be stored at
room temperature. Also, they will be easy to find when we need
them. If there are children in the home and though they may
have a separate bathroom, at some point they will visit yours.
It is best to keep all medications out of the reach of small
children.
Make-up has a tendency to accumulate. We try
new products all the time. There are some items which you
should not keep. Most make-up will last between eighteen and
twenty-four months. Mascara usually has a life of about three
months and liquid eyeliners generally have a life of three to
six months. Nail polish is usually good for a year. You should
discard these items if you have had them past these time lines.
The ingredients of many make-up products are
animal based. You should give them a sniff test. If they smell
bad, throw them away. One way to keep track of how long you
have had a product is to mark them with the purchase date.
Look at the storage you have in your bathroom.
You may need to purchase some storage containers to organize
the items you have in your bathroom. If you have the room, you
may want to add shelves or a closed cabinet. You can put your
items in containers, label them appropriately and put them
away. When you need an item, you can take down the container,
use it, and put it back in the container, and store the
container in its proper place. This will help to keep you
organized.
A good way to relieve stress is to have a
relaxing bath. If you put away the clutter, you can add candles
to your bathroom. Run a warm bath using your favorite bath oil,
light the candles, turn out the lights, and relax.
